The Eisenhower Matrix is a critical prioritization template when you have a lot to do. In this video, we explain how to use it to categorize your tasks using EisenhowerMatrixTool.com, a free, online Eisenhower Matrix template.

History
The Eisenhower Matrix takes its name from President Dwight D. Eisenhower, who commanded Allied forces in Europe during World War II. He is often credited with the quote distinguishing between urgent and important tasks. The concept was popularized in Stephen Covey's 1989 bestseller The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, where Covey introduced the four-quadrant framework (urgent/important, not urgent/important, urgent/not important, not urgent/not important) as a time management tool, attributing its origins to Eisenhower. Since then, it has become one of the most widely taught prioritization frameworks in business, productivity coaching, and self-help.
